Service Description
The PBO Youth Boxing Development Programme is designed for rangatahi aged 13 to 18 who want to build their boxing skills, fitness, confidence, and personal development in a positive and structured environment. This programme provides a clear pathway for young people to progress from learning the fundamentals of boxing through to advanced training and competitive opportunities. Participants develop technical boxing skills, physical conditioning, discipline, resilience, and self-confidence while training alongside like-minded peers. Sessions include boxing technique, footwork, pad work, bag work, fitness conditioning, controlled sparring, and ring awareness. Participants are encouraged to set goals, challenge themselves, and take responsibility for their personal growth both inside and outside the gym. For those interested in amateur boxing, the programme offers a pathway into competitive boxing, including opportunities to represent PBO at local, regional, and national events. All participants are required to bring a water bottle, sweat towel, mouthguard, and appropriate covered training clothing. Boxing gloves and all training equipment are provided by PBO.
