Who are Papuni Boxing ÅŒtautahi ?
Papuni Boxing ÅŒtautahi is a community-based boxing organisation in Christchurch dedicated to supporting tamariki and rangatahi through structured, positive boxing programs. We focus on discipline, confidence, fitness, respect, and personal development.
What is your kaupapa?
Our kaupapa is about more than boxing. We aim to build strong, confident young people, support their hauora, and create a safe, positive space where they can grow.
Programs & Age Groups
What age groups do you cater for?
We run programs for:

Kids Boxing: 7–9 years

Junior Boxer: 10–12 years

Kotiro Boxer: 12–18 years (girls only)

Youth Boxing: 13–18 years

Athlete Academy: 11–18 years (competitive pathway)
Do participants need experience to join?
No. All of our programs are beginner-friendly. We teach correct technique, safety, and fundamentals from the ground up.
Do you offer competitive boxing?
Yes. For those who show commitment and are ready, we provide a pathway into amateur boxing through our Athlete Academy. This includes competition preparation, travel to events, and development opportunities.
Safety & Training
Is boxing safe for kids and youth?
Yes. Safety is a top priority. Training is fully supervised by experienced coaches, and sessions are structured to be age-appropriate. There is no full-contact sparring for beginners or younger participants.
Who runs the programs?
All programs are led by qualified, experienced coaches, including Head Coach and Manager Reece Papuni, with support from trusted staff and mentors.
Enrolment & Availability

How do I enrol my child?
You can register your child directly via our website.

Do you offer trial classes?
No. Due to limited spots, we do not offer trial classes. Enrolment is a full-term commitment.

Are your classes full?
Many of our classes operate at capacity and often have waiting lists. We prioritise quality and safety over numbers. If a class is full, you can join the waiting list.
Fees & Equipment
How much does it cost?
We keep fees as low as possible to remove financial barriers. In some cases, support options are available.
What does my child need to bring?

For academy athletes, full training equipment is required.
Location & Schedule
Where are you located?
We are based at 18B Clarence Street, Addington, Christchurch.
What days and times do you run classes?
Classes run Monday to Saturday. Timetables vary by program and term. Please refer to our website for the current schedule.
Adults & Corporate Training
Do you take on adult fighters?
No, we do not take adults for amateur competition. However, we do run adult classes and corporate boot camps.
How much are adult classes?
Adult classes are $12.50 per class.
Do you offer one-on-one training for adults?
Yes, we offer one-on-one training sessions for adults. Please message the page and someone will get back to you.

Yes. We regularly partner with schools, youth services, and community organisations to deliver programs and support young people.
